Neil Huntley, LMR Channel Manager at Vertel has been awarded NSW Industry Professional of The Year at the 2017 annual ARCIA dinner. Neil joined Vertel in 1997 and has had an extensive career in the LMR industry spanning the world and working in a variety of roles, cutting his teeth as a technician in Philips before migrating into a sales engineer role and then into pure sales. He not only has a true passion for LMR but also a true passion for people and customer service. Most outstanding is his willingness to impart his deep knowledge of the LMR industry and will always take the time to help new starters understand this industry and has a unique ability to simply explain complex concepts. Neil does more than sell Vertel services, he champions LMR and the radio industry.
2017 ARCIA WA STATE INDUSTRY EXCELLENCE AWARDSBruce Quail wins WA State Award
Vertel’’s LMR Strategy Manager, Bruce Quail won WA State Award at WA ARCIA dinner on Thursday 16th Mar 2017 for his contribution to the industry. Vertel has been providing LMR services to the most demanding organisations in Government, Enterprise and Service Provider segments for over 40 years. Bruce joined Vertel in 1998 and has set about to make the WA operations a key element of the success of the national network provider and has been instrumental in rolling out Australia’s first open standard Vertel DMR Tier 3 network nationally.
Winner in MEF 2016 Excellence AwardsWinner - Enterprise Application of the Year (Education)
Vertel has once again been recognised by the global carrier Ethernet community, as a WINNER for Enterprise Application of the Year for Education category in the annual MEF (Metro Ethernet Forum) Excellence Awards for 2016. Vertel was recognised as WINNER under Education category for delivering Wide Area Network (WAN), connecting 89 schools across 5 major regions covering Broken Bay, Lismore, Maitland-Newcastle, Wollongong, Canberra and Goulburn. The WAN network provided critical connectivity to the schools in regional and remote locations with a combination of primary connections and redundant links using apparatus licensed microwave access and our independent and redundant MPLS core.

Vertel’s Operations Team Leader, Robert Tudza, took the award for Technical Excellence at this ceremony, which recognises the contributions made to the radio communications industry by many individuals. This specific recognition is for innovation, teamwork and service for technical staff involved in all facets of repair and installation of mobiles, portables and systems.

The ARCIA awards are an annual event which recognise the contributions made to the radio communications industry by many individuals. Vertel’s Senior IP Support Engineer, Fahad Hassan, was recognised with the Best New Talent Award by ARCIA for his commitment, leadership and innovation within the radio communications industry.
2013 MEF Carrier Ethernet AwardsFinalist – APAC Best Carrier Ethernet Business Application (Education)
Vertel was shortlisted for its network solution for the NSW Association of Independent schools in these annual Awards recognising excellence and leadership in the development, marketing and delivery of Carrier Ethernet Services. This network provided video conferencing and high-speed internet connectivity to 14 remote schools across NSW.
2013 ARN ICT Industry AwardsWinner – Best Telco Initiative
Vertel was awarded by ARN for it’s “Smartfi” managed Wi-Fi network rolled out for a large sporting ground in Victoria. The Best Telco Initiative category is awarded to “the best technology, product or business-based initiative introduced by any telecommunications-related company over the past 12 months.” The Smartfi network enables public and private connectivity across huge and congested areas.
